Fat Vancouver Snow - Video Poetry
I made a reflective interpretation of this poem written by Dane Tucker. The poem is a representation of how the rivers containing Vancouver’s heritage species “Salmon” have declined over the years as the grounds have changed to become the concrete jungle replacing the Norquay forest lands.
ABOUT
My remix version takes the poem’s first stanza and visually depicts the story of how the gen-Z interprets theses changes that the poet is talking about, from salmon to sushi, from silence and snow to traffic and sports.
Our Norquay lands are quite different wouldn’t you agree?
Fat Vancouver Snow - Video Poetry
Later in this project I grouped up with Badiya and Evan to produce another re-interpretation of this poem, the Director and conceptual idea was Evan’s, he also produced the CGI salmon of fishes using Unity and Badiya was our Director of Photography she videographed the landscape shots. As for me I produced the original score and helped the team as an Assistant Director, overall keeping the projects logistics and creative editing input .
This project was completed in the span of 3 weeks in Spring of 2023″

My altergo is “The Bluecyankid” I like to make rap songs while working on the first iteration for the score of the visual poetry I wanted to use my own song so I remixed my own original song with this edm version that mixed well with the poetry.

The words spoken were ” Where the love at, turn it up! ” transitioning into a time-travelling transversal soundscape that samples a flowing river and hollow metal drums.
